Akvo is in contact with various potential partners and governments in Africa to discuss national WASH mapping and mobile water quality monitoring. We are working on initiatives for national WASH mapping in Madagascar and Djibouti (both Unicef) and presented a plan to visualise WASH data in the tea areas of Kenya (GIZ). There was also increasing interest in Akvo's mobile water quality monitoring tool Caddisfly. We developed a plan to measure water quality with farmers in Malawi (DAPP) and we looked at the role of mobile water quality monitoring to improve water supply in South-Africa (Unie van Waterschappen) and Tanzania (Twaweza). In the horn of Africa, we explored national WASH mapping in Eritrea (Unicef) and looked at the possibilities of mobile phone based water quality testing in Somalia (GSA Somalia).
